Limitless is delighted to announce a partnership with Rezon, with stock of their protective Halos headband now available to Schoolblazer schools.
Limitless encourages everyone to participate in sport and aims to remove the barriers that hold them back. In 2024 they have decided to partner with companies who offer products which look to address issues in sport and one of these is the very important area of brain injury in sport. Most people are aware that concussion can be very serious, but a lesser-known risk is that of sub-concussions, which damage brain cell function without evident signs or symptoms.
Both concussions and sub-concussions have been shown to create changes in white matter, brain connections and blood flow, and cumulative damage puts brain tissue at risk. Young people are particularly impacted by brain injury; under 12s experiencing head impacts are at a higher risk of not achieving minimum standards for numeracy and reading in school, with problems continuing into adulthood. Helping to reduce this is the goal of Rezon’s Halos headband, which has been designed specifically to lessen the impact of rotational forces on the brain during sport. Judith McMinn, founder of Rezon says, “sports players are accustomed to protecting their teeth and shins, yet it is the brain that determines performance in life and sport. Rezon offers brain protection to every player. Through our partnership with Limitless, now thousands of pupils from pre to senior schools will have the choice of brain protection in sports!”
Louise Allard of Limitless says: “Limitless aims to help keep young people in sport and form healthy habits for life. Head injuries don’t just reduce the ability to play sport – they impact all areas of life, including academic progress, particularly in young people. We’re delighted to offer the Halos headband to our Limitless schools through their online shops.”
