King William’s College and The Buchan School are Senior and Prep schools respectively, nestled on the idyllic Isle of Man, which is home to just 32 primary schools and 5 senior schools. Founded in 1833, the college originally opened its doors to just 46 boys, but today it is a co-educational institution where its 500+ pupils develop a deep love of learning. It is only right that this wonderful school with such a strong heritage boasts a proud and distinctive uniform, supplied by Schoolblazer.

In 2023, The Schoolblazer Team visited the school to discuss a uniform upgrade. They noted that the grey uniform, worn by pupils at the time, was at odds with the stunning location of the school, as well as its dynamic attitudes to teaching. The school was also running their own school shop onsite, which was proving to be inconvenient for busy parents, as well as difficult to manage for the school itself. Coinciding with the appointment of new Head, Damian Henderson, King William’s College and The Buchan School decided they were ready to head in to a new era for the supply of their school uniform. With teaching the key focus for the school, the uniform and sportswear provision could be left to the proven capability of Schoolblazer.

When considering the re-design of the uniform, the school wanted both the senior and prep colours to be present. King William College’s colour is magenta, and The Buchan School’s is a royal blue, so Schoolblazer created a bespoke plaid blazer with a magenta and royal windowpane design, worn by pupils from F1-U5. Combined with lovely, rich magenta knitwear and plain bottom halves, this creates a unique and powerful look for the school that the pupils wear with pride. Limitless was also chosen for their sportswear provision, making life easy for parents by providing a one-stop shop. Here, the magenta is carried through and used alongside black, for a distinctive contrast that catches the eye on the pitch.
